The head of the ESC "Institute of Biology and Medicine" - one of the largest educational and scientific Faculties/Institutes of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, which aims to combine research, education and innovation activity; training a new generation of researchers and highly skilled professionals; identify opportunities for transforming the gained basic knowledge and skills into ideas, which have an applied character; increase the competitiveness of scientific research; introduce new technologies into production and so on.
As Professor of the Department of Biochemistry, she teaches 4 general courses, namely: "Bioorganic Chemistry", "Biochemistry", "Biotechnology" and "Introduction to Biology Specialty".
Her research activities relate to the study of the molecular mechanisms of functioning of the universal regulatory systems in cells of different origin. Her experimental work has essential and fundamental values and it is aimed at clarifying the role of the universal intracellular messenger cascades into the development of various pathological states in animals and humans.
Founder and leader of the "Functional Biochemistry" scientific school. Supervisor and consultant of 5 Doctoral and 34 PhD theses.
Prof L.I. Ostapchenko if the author of more than 1070 publications, including 7 textbooks, 10 manuals, 9 monographs, 24 patents and 490 scientific articles.
